City Women's Network

About CWN Founded in 1978, CWN has a long standing tradition of supporting senior professional women across industry in the UK.

City Women’s Network (CWN) is a network of over 200 senior professional women.

We are a selective network that bases entry upon candidate seniority and professional merit. The network is comprised of Managing Directors, Partners, Non-Executive Directors, Trustees, members of Livery Companies, Entrepreneurs and women in the management ranks of corporate and public sector companies. We also feature a rising star population of more junior women who demonstrate excellence in their public and professional lives.

As a credible source for both media and research, we have worked with the BBC (Radio 4 and Today), BBC News, City AM, The Financial Times and The Times. In 2009, we were asked to give testimony to the Treasury Select Committee’s inquiry into ’Women in The City’ and were featured in the response. This year and into 2011 we are contributing to Lord Davies review of the lack of women on boards, firmly establishing CWN as a trusted voice for senior women in business.

We are committed to helping members develop director-level skills and competencies, as well as promoting, through the media and other prominent channels, the contribution that women make to the business community.

Our membership, the professional development, business and social principles upon which CWN was built, provides a significant platform for building lasting professional and social relationships.

CWN has provided me with a wide and varied network of contacts with whom I can share views and points of interest and many of whom have become my friends. It can be easy sometimes to neglect the issues that touch all women in their busy professional lives, but CWN events are always topical and rewarding in terms of keeping up to date with developments and learning and debating with those who are the best in their respective fields in areas that are of such importance to women today.
