CWN Event on the Latest Developments in the Media

All types of media are currently changing fast and are all competing to be received anywhere anytime. That was the message CWN member, Roz Morris, gave to members of City Women's Network at the beginning of February.

Roz, who is Managing Director of leading media training company, TV News London Ltd, www.tvnewslondon.co.uk told us that there has never been a time of such huge change in both news and entertainment media.

In her talk entitled 'Media Matters: Ten Things you need to know about the Media Now', Roz emphasised the way different types of formerly separate media are now working together, the search for new business models as the web sucks money and advertising away from traditional media, and the new responses from traditional media, including website paywalls, product placement on UK commercial radio and TV, plus new technologies for receiving media anywhere anytime.

"I've spent my whole career in the media, working in print, radio and TV, and more recently in media training and PR, and I've never known a time like this where so many companies are vying for media business and some are battling it out for world domination."  Roz said.

"This is a most exciting time with huge opportunities for businesses to publicise themselves via the web and traditional media."

Many thanks to our host, CWN Member, Ruth Hickling, Partner at Edwin Coe LLP who hosted the event at their offices in Lincoln's Inn.

CWN is a great mix. There are events that are serious, that cover topics that are new to me, and there are events that are fun. There are people from a range of sectors, some in the City, many not. There are also plenty of opportunities for collaboration and friendship.
