CWN committees
New CWN members generally find that joining one or more committees is a great way of quickly getting to know other members. It also provides an enjoyable and beneficial introduction to the activities of the Network.

The Business Committee
This committee organises events around a range of professional issues of interest to both our corporate and entrepreneurial members. Themes for events are diverse: from Finance in the Boardroom and Planning Your Financial Future, to Networking Made Easy and Marketing Your Business. Recent events have included updates on pensions, employment law, performance management, running a charity, book publishing.

Marketing Committee
This committee deals with all aspects of CWN's Marketing and PR strategy both within and outside of the Network. The committee's responsibilities include: dealing with the Media to raise the public profile of CWN and the issues which concern its members, attracting new members, developing the CWN web site and enhancing the range of benefits CWN offers to its members, as well as sponsorship and communications.
- Membership Committee
The Membership committee organises quarterly Cocktail Parties. It also handles all enquiries about CWN membership, processes applications and, through the "Buddy" scheme, ensures that new and potential members are thoroughly welcomed into the Network.

Personal Development Committee
Working with the aim of developing personal (and professional) effectiveness, the Personal Development committee organises a range of events around specific themes. It explores current key issues in executive development and provides members with valuable information and experience of useful models and approaches. Examples of events include workshops on applying for public appointments, presentations on being a non – executive director; discussion forums on CSR, diversity , ‘Sexism in the City’ and politics at work. Their theme for 2006/7 is ‘Women and Success’.

Social Activities Committee
This committee organises a wide variety of events, all with a social dimension ideal for developing new friendships and strengthening contacts. Events are many and varied, and include visits to art galleries, museums and theatres, health and beauty events, wine tastings and shopping evenings.

The Board
The Board is made up of the President, Vice-President and Immediate Past President of CWN, the Chairmen of the above committees, the Secretary and Treasurer of CWN. The Board organises the Annual Dinner. All these posts are voluntary and elected on an annual basis. |
