| Start time: | 6.15 pm |
| Finish time: | 9.00pm |
| Address: | National Liberal Club
Whitehall Place,
London SW1A 2HE |
| Information: | British Ambassador, Thorda Abbott Watt has been our ambassador in Mongolia and Armenia as well as Chargé d’Affaires in Dushanbe where she established the first British Embassy in Tajikistan. She will talk to CWN about the pros and cons of representing British business abroad and what it’s like to live and work in Ulan Bator and other far flung capital cities.
Thorda is currently between foreign appointments and we are fortunate to have her up to the minute insights into the testing world of diplomacy.
She started her diplomatic career in 1974 and her overseas appointments have included Belgrade, Kiev, Bonn, and Paris. She has also worked in UK Representation in the European Union. She is a life member of the National Art Collections Fund.
We are delighted to host this event in the National Liberal Club in Whitehall. Founded in 1882 as a gentleman’s club, the club now has no political affiliations and is open to both men and women.
We shall be meeting in the Lady Violet Bonham Carter Room and will have networking, drinks and canapés from 6.15pm – 7pm followed by the talk from Thorda Abbott Watt and questions, from 7-8pm, and then more networking until 9pm.
