New Inquiry Seeks to Achieve More Senior Women at Board Level
City Women’s Network welcomes the recent announcement that Mervyn Davies, Labour’s former trade minister and the former chairman of Standard Chartered, is to lead a fresh independent inquiry into why so few women make it to board level at British companies. Lord Davies will lead a review of how the government might encourage more women to reach the top of the corporate ladder.

CWN has some of the most senior and prominent women in the UK as members and we would be glad to assist in whatever way we can. CWN Welcomes EU's Latest View on Gender Quotas on Company Boards
On 15 July the European Commission announced that it is considering introducing quotas to tackle gender imbalances in the decision-making bodies of private companies, where only 10% of members are women.

Women Face Greater Employment Challenges in a Recession

Top Women join CWN
CWN has appointed two Honorary Members to its Board, Helen Alexander CBE, President of the CBI and Angela Knight CBE, CEO of the British Bankers' Association. Helen and Angela's appointment reflects the growing influence of CWN as the leading City network for professional women. Angela spoke at the Lord Mayor's Appeal Women's Networking Breakfast, on May 19 at Mansion House.
