December 2009 - Christmas Drinks at the Grange Hotel

On the 10th of December, CWN members and guests were welcomed at the newly refurbished Grange Hotel near St. Paul’s Cathedral for our annual Christmas party. The impressive Novello terrace bar at the heart of this contemporary hotel was the perfect surrounding for some festive drinks and canapés.

A string trio from the Royal College of Music, led by the lovely Vicky Mavromoustaki, provided soft and festive music for the event while members and guests were able to catch up and draw conclusions on one of the most difficult business years yet.

All attendees received a small gift personally created by some of the board members, closely directed by Erica Gut, who was sharing tales of Thanksgiving and whose recipe for butternut squash salad has now reached Gordon Ramsey’s status (wait for the next edition of Connections!).

Some new faces and well established members attended the party including our President, Clare Dobie, Chair of the Business Committee, India Gary, Secretary, Erica Gut, Treasurer, Bee Lean Chew and our Vice President, Roz Morris, who was in attendance despite a small accident which led her to wear a cast on her ankle; she was accompanied by one of our longest serving members yet, Patricia Wright.

The party carried on into the evening when each guest left with a small CWN Christmas bauble, filled with chocolate and marshmallows!
