City Women's Network Board members
Here are the new appointments which were made to the Board at the Annual General Meeting on 31st March 2009.
Clare Dobie - President
Clare Dobie is a director of Braxted Marketing Measures, which works with asset managers and other City firms to measure and improve their marketing and client service. She is a Non-Executive Director of Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. She is a trustee of Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust and a volunteer for Pilotlight, a charity that helps small charities to grow.
Until 2005, Clare was Group Head of Marketing at GAM and before that she was Head of Clients at Barclays Global Investors. Until 1993 she was a financial journalist, working at the BBC, Investors Chronicle, Times and Independent, where she was City Editor.

Roz Morris - Vice-President
Roz is Managing Director of leading media training company, TV News London Ltd. She has long experience as a media trainer, broadcaster and writer. She advises and trains people at all levels, from chief executives to press officers, to be effective spokespeople for their organisations. Since founding TV News London in 1992, she has combined her distinguished career as a broadcaster on television and radio for both BBC and ITV with providing media and presentation training, for both public and private organisations. She also runs PR campaigns with a special emphasis on Broadcast PR.
Roz has been Vice President of City Women’s Network since March 2008 and has previously run the Membership Committee. She is a member of the Institute of Directors and the Worshipful Company of Marketors and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Her voluntary work currently includes her role as a member of the Curriculum Quality Committee of Barnet College and she is also on the Nominating Committee of the Women of the Year Lunch. She was previously Vice Chair of the Governors of Queen Elizabeth’s Girls’ School, Barnet.
Bee Lean Chew - Treasurer
Bee is a partner with West End chartered accountants Wilder Coe, where she currently heads up the audit department. She specialises in audit and financial reporting for the retail and wholesale sectors as well as regular involvement in forensic accounting.
Apart from her professional qualifications, Bee also holds degrees in Law and Finance. She is also a non-executive director of the Bromley NHS Trust.
Erica Gut - Secretary
Erica Gut is a Managing Director in the Global Tax Department at Merrill Lynch, now part of Bank of America. She is a US lawyer by training and has had a varied career in the tax field, including stints at a petrochemical company, a law firm and a variety of financial institutions, both on the front office and the back office sides. Currently she runs the product function in the tax department for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She is also a member of the Women’s Leadership Council at Merrill Lynch.
Ellen Cantor - Communications Director
Ellen Cantor is a consultant in internal communications, working with medium and large international companies on a variety of projects to engage employees. Her special interest is writing and editing corporate communications. Before turning to communications, her portfolio career ranged from international banking to organisational development to event management.
She is also a board member of the Europe and Middle East region of the International Association of Business Communicators. Leisure interests include opera and theatre, holidays in France and ‘gymming and swimming’.

Jacqueline Yee - the Business Committee
Jacqueline is an investment banker with experience developing business initiatives in Corporate Finance M&A, Privatisations (focusing on PFI/PPP projects), and Restructuring. Over the past 17+ years, she has advised, structured and executed transactions across Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific and the Far East; particularly in the infrastructure, transportation, energy, oil & gas, and health sectors. She is currently a Director at Fortis Bank, having worked several years with the bank in London and The Netherlands. Preceding that, she has worked internationally for a significant period at major investment banks such as Bankers Trust Australia. Jacqueline began her career as a chartered accountant with E&Y NZ in Audit and Risk Advisory, prior to moving into Corporate Finance to start and lead the specialised financial reviews (restructuring) practice.
Jacqueline holds a specialist MBA-MIF(distinction) degree, graduating summa cum laude, and a triple Bachelors of Commerce degree in Accounting, Finance and Operations Research. She is multi-lingual and is involved in mentoring young professionals in her field.
Kari Hadjivassiliou - Marketing Committee
Kari’s background is in HRM where she has been involved in a research, evaluator or consultancy capacity since completing her post-graduate studies at the LSE. She joined the Tavistock in 1997. From 2001 to 2003 Kari was on secondment to the European Commission. Now back at the Tavistock, Kari works as a Senior Researcher/Consultant on multi-level governance processes/structures; organisational learning; and HRM, e.g. age and gender diversity. Kari joined CWN in 2003 and is currently the Chair of the Marketing Committee. She also sits on the Council of the UK Evaluation Society and is a member of the European Movement and the LSE Women’s Alumni Network.
Ariana Bradford - Membership Committee
Ariana is director of global outreach for the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management with a mandate to build profile for the business school in Europe. Prior to her move to the UK, she was director of strategic marketing and business development, for Executive Programs at Rotman. She has also run the communications division of the Canada-China Business Council; and has held a variety of management positions at Boston University’s Department for International Health.
Ariana holds degrees in politics, East Asian studies and journalism from the University of Toronto and the University of Western Ontario. Personal and professional interests include: cross-cultural communication and travel, South Asian literature, choral singing, hiking and cross-country skiing.
India Gary - Personal Development Committee
India Gary’s career in the financial services sector spans nearly twenty years. Having recently successfully completed the Integration of ABN AMRO and Royal Bank of Scotland’s Equity business, she is now leading RBS’s Asset Protection Scheme for Global Banking and Markets.
Prior to joining RBS, India held both global COO and CIO management roles in Technology at Deutsche Bank and Lehman Brothers, where she held postings in New York, London, Frankfurt and Tokyo. During her time in Japan, India taught Practical Performance Management and Corporate Strategy at Temple University’s Corporate Education Department. India began her career at Morgan Stanley’s graduate training programme, where she specialised in Telecoms and latterly moved into Commodities Trading.
In May 2007, India was awarded Women in Banking and Finance’s ‘Outstanding Contribution to Diversity’ and in December of the same year she was also awarded Best Female Technologist by European Banking Technology Magazine. In addition to her native English, India also speaks French and Japanese and is a published writer.
Anna Westcott - Social Activities Committee
Anna is a business woman with 21 years experience in Financial Services operations, sales and people management. She is used to operating within diverse cross-functional programmes, interacting at Director and Board levels.
In her last role she held the position of UK Business Manager for Aberdeen Asset Management, with responsibility for ensuring a structured approach to client care, targets, information-gathering and business generation across the UK Business Development area.
Now Anna is using this valuable experience to establish her training company – Topaz Coaching Ltd., offering personal development, NLP and training services. Her main aim is to focus on ‘wellbeing’ of the individual. And she has a healthcare company too, specialising in Aloe Vera products – Alo Aloe! www.aloaloe.myflpbiz.com.
Sue Sheen - Editor of 'Connections'
Sue runs her own editorial and publication service, Words for Business. She has extensive experience in the world of corporate publications, latterly with the Chartered Insurance Institute.
