CWN celebrate gender diversity at FCO Global Britain, Global Women event

CWN board members were privileged to attend Global Britain, Global Women at the Foreign Office which was a wonderful start to Women of the Future 2019.

FCO Women, DG Global and Economic Issues and the Gender Equality Unit from the FCO teamed up with DIT and Women of the Future to arrange this event. They were delighted to introduce BBC News Presenter, Mishal Husain who shared insights and snippets from her book ‘The Skills: From First Job to Dream Job’.

Mishal's career at the BBC began in 1998 as a producer, before she became one of the primary presenters on BBC World News, spending time in Singapore, Washington and on location around the world. Mishal has presented critically acclaimed BBC documentaries about the use of social media during the Arab Spring and immigration issues in Britain and Europe, amongst others. In 2016 she was named one of the 500 most influential people in Britain and currently she presents the BBC Radio 4 Today Programme.

Mishal’s first book, launched this year, 'The Skills: From First Job to Dream Job - What Every Woman Needs to Know' inspires, champions and encourages women to make their ambitions a reality by focusing on the practical skills that make a difference. Mishal signed copies of her book to much enthusiasm from the audience.

CWN hope our members and friends will have the opportunity to attend the events being held during ‘Week of Women’ as part of Women of Future 2019.
