CWN Online Workshop - Understanding and Developing an Entrepreneurial Mindset

11 Nov 2020
7:00pm - 8:00pm GMT

Why do entrepreneurs like Elon Musk, Oprah Winfrey or Richard Branson seem to always be ready for the next business opportunity? Are they born with a certain set of traits that makes them entrepreneurial? Or is it possible to train and develop an entrepreneurial way of thinking and taking action? And how can leaders and employees in large organisations benefit from thinking like an entrepreneur?

In her session, Dr Mona Mensmann, Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Warwick Business School, will provide answers to these questions. Drawing on her own work as well as further entrepreneurship scholars, she will give insights and practical tips on how everyone of us can cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset.

Mona will also address how supporting an entrepreneurial mindset can spark economic and societal development in low-income countries. In her research collaborations with the World Bank, Mona has developed and tested different ways to support entrepreneurial thinking in various target groups (e.g., microentrepreneurs in Togo, female business owners in Mozambique and school children in Ecuador). The session will provide several opportunities for discussion and joint reflection.
