The Sandwich Generation: Navigating the Hidden Load

12 Nov 2025
8:00am - 10:00am GMT

Join CWN and our Corporate Partner, Oakleaf Partnership, on 12th November for a panel event discussion the Sandwich Generation - a timely and insightful event exploring the challenges of balancing work, parenting, and eldercare.

Whether you're living it yourself or managing someone who is, this session will offer practical strategies, shared experiences, and expert advice to help you better support yourself and others through this increasingly common stage of life.

The Panel:

Aman Lidder

Having read English at Leicester University, Aman began her career in 2003 at the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy, where she authored the legal resource Therapists in Court. This opened the door to opportunities in forensics and compliance, first at PwC and later at HSBC in Canary Wharf, where she gained valuable corporate experience in high-pressure environments. After taking a career break to raise her six children, she returned to work in Social Care, focusing on CQC compliance, digital transformation, and leading refurbishment projects. She also became a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor, delivering workplace training to improve mental health awareness, and qualified as a Personal and Business Life Coach through Barefoot Coaching.

Aman is passionate about making coaching more accessible, particularly for women navigating the complex intersection of career, identity, and family life. As a mentor with Mentor Mums, she supports mothers through these transitions, creating space for women, carers, and professionals striving to hold everything together - even when it feels like it’s falling apart. Outside of work, she enjoys running and fundraising; she completed the London Marathon in 2022 after taking up running during the pandemic, and more recently completed a 26-mile hike for the Alzheimer’s Society, raising £1,000. She joined CWN earlier this year after attending a workshop on Empowering Female Leaders by Geraldine Gallagher, Vice President of City Women’s Network. Inspired by CWN’s mission, she is committed to contributing to a network that champions women balancing professional ambition with the everyday realities of motherhood and life.

Marie Robery-Bliss

With over 20 years of experience in recruitment, including 14 successful years at Oakleaf Partnership, Marie reflects proudly on the journey and growth achieved alongside the business. She originally joined Oakleaf to establish the ‘interim’ desk within Financial Services and went on to manage a growing team in the HR interim space. In 2019, as her son was starting school, she transitioned into a People & Culture Manager role - a move that allowed her to work closely with business partners to support team development and drive organisational growth. In this role, she focused on fostering a challenging, supportive, and engaging environment, while designing and delivering training and management development programmes to help employees reach their full potential.

In January 2025, an exciting new opportunity arose to lead the Interim team for Specialist Markets - a challenge she embraced with enthusiasm. Now heading a dynamic and talented team, she is energised by the opportunities ahead and looks forward to the continued growth and impact they will achieve together.
