"Seriously Funny" - A Workshop with The Comedy School

About Luke Sorba

Luke Sorba is an improviser, writer, actor and expert facilitator with three decades of international experience in comedy, performing all over the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa and the Caribbean as well as at the National Theatre and The Globe in London. For BBC Radio 4 he hosted the improvised comedy panel game You Asked for It, wrote and starred in the sitcom The World as We Know It, and co-wrote and starred in two seasons of Losers. On BBC 1 he performed in four seasons of Confessions, starred in two season of children’s sitcom Monster TV and was a regular in Richard Hammond’s Secret Service. He also wrote for the BBC TV sitcom Mad About Alice and was in Brass Eye on Channel 4. 

Luke has devised multiple improvisation shows recently including The Improvasprint, and Props & Costumes as well as his online show Unmute. He has guested with The Comedy Store Players and with Paul Merton’s Impro Chums and he currently hosts the podcast The Movies that Made Me. 

As a workshop facilitator and teacher Luke has travelled from Dublin to Dubai, Miami to Munich, Malaga to Helsinki, Bangkok to Beirut. Clients have varied from RADA and 20th Century Fox, Barclays Bank and Google, EE and Microsoft, WPP and Dentsu as well as widely across the public sector including schools, universities, NHS, DCMS, and the Ministry of Justice. 

 

Timings

6:00pm - 6:30pm: Registration, networking & nibbles
6:30pm - 8:00pm: Workshop hosted by Luke Sorba
8:00pm - 9.30pm: Drinks, canapes and networking

Pricing:

Tickets cost £35 for Individual Members and Corporate Members.  Guest of Member tickets are £55.

 

Cancellation Policy

For tickets cancelled no later than 7 days in advance of the event we are able to provide a full refund of the ticket fee. For any tickets cancelled later than 7 days in advance of the event, a refund can only be given should the ticket be re-sold to the waiting list. 

Photographs

We regularly publish photographs [and videos] from events and other activities on our website, in our newsletters, in print, and on social media.  Participants at our events automatically give us permission to use photographs taken at our events.  If you do not wish to be photographed, or you wish to have a published image removed please let us know and we will remove the image as far as possible.
