CWN is delighted to be collaborating on an exciting panel session hosted by BDB Pitmans on how to start and grow your own business and take it to the next level. Come and join us at their offices at One Bartholomew Close between St. Pauls and Barbican for an engaging panel discussion with Q&A followed by drinks and canapes. 
 
BDB Pitmans is a law firm that cares about doing things right and well so individuals, businesses, charities and the public sector do well too.
 
This female-led panel includes Hollie Gallagher, partner at BDB Pitmans, Susanne Pugsley, consultant and co-founder at Puglsey Sidwell Business Development (PSBD) and Pauline Caldwell, Director of Momentum Business Consulting, who will all be offering advice and support on how you can approach starting your own business.  We have recently confirmed a fourth panelist, Malli Kini, Director at Ernst & Young and trusted strategic advisor to entrepreneurs and private businesses.

About Hollie Gallagher

Hollie is  Partner at BDB Pitmans.  She is an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer who advises entrepreneurs and businesses on their legal needs.

She supports national and international businesses in all stages of their corporate life cycle development. Hollie has a particular talent for supporting entrepreneurs as they seek to turn their ideas into tangible opportunities and successful businesses.

Hollie has a broad practice and advises on private acquisitions and disposals, MBOs, joint ventures, shareholder agreements, commercial agreements and corporate governance / company advisory matters.

 

 

About Susanne Pugsley

Susanne is a passionate and pragmatic business development specialist in the legal sector and beyond.  During a quarter of a century working in house as a BD and Marketing Director and externally as consultant and coach she has developed a deep understanding of the nuances and intricacies of working with partnerships to achieve their business goals.

Susanne started Pugsley Sidwell Business Development or “PSBD” in 2009 after a decade in house in law firm marketing and business development for a range of firms from Global UK headquartered, US firms, National firms and Regional firms so her range of experience spans the very large to the very small and can adapt and tailor services to fit any size or requirement.

Susanne is a judge for the Managing Partner Forum awards and the Head of Programme Managment for the PM Forum and MPF.  She is also a Non Executive Director for The CPI Code. 

Pauline Caldwell

Pauline is a Global HR professional, Non-Executive Director and Executive coach with 20+ years’ experience, who has operated extensively at C-Suite level working across professional services, primarily within law and accountancy, and more recently within risk, engineering, wealth management and healthcare.  
 
Pauline’s ability to understand the complexities of the environments in which people work, enables her to advise Boards and leaders on their people leadership capabilities in a business first, commercially focussed, supportive yet challenging way.
 
After almost 20 years working in professional services firms, Pauline set-up Momentum Business Consulting in February 2021, a people focussed consulting and executive coaching business.  Her key areas of expertise cover executive coaching, people leadership & development, compensation & remuneration, succession planning, ED&I and relationship management.  Pauline is known for being honest, straight-talking, curious, collaborative and possessing an ability to identify issues and recommend solutions swiftly in line with the culture of an organisation.  
 
Pauline is MCIPD-qualified and holds a Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching and a Systemic Team Coaching certificate via the Academy of Executive Coaching. 

 

Malli Kini

Malli is a Director at EY and leads the Entrepreneurs Team for Tax in London.  He is truly passionate about the Entrepreneurial market, with over 15 years of experience, where he typically advises on tax matters at both corporate and shareholder levels across multiple sectors. In addition, his clients value him as a trusted advisor who understands their commercial needs well enough to proactively open the doors to other relevant specialists - enabling their businesses to reach the next stage of their growth journey. 

His clients are wide ranging: from startups undergoing their first funding round, or established businesses looking to expand globally, through to unicorn status businesses looking to exit through a sale or listing. 

As well as helping his clients, Malli is also deeply involved in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year award programme (EY’s global flagship award for entrepreneurs) and is a mentor on EY’s EMEIA Winning Women Programme for female entrepreneurs.

Pricing:

This event is free to Members and Corporate Members with the option to register a guest for £10, the cost of which will be donated to our Charity Partner, Woman's Trust.  Non-Member tickets cost £20 - this cost will also be donated to Woman's Trust.

 

Cancellation Policy

For tickets cancelled no later than 7 days in advance of the event we are able to provide a full refund of the ticket fee. For any tickets cancelled later than 7 days in advance of the event, a refund can only be given should the ticket be re-sold to the waiting list. 

Photographs

We regularly publish photographs [and videos] from events and other activities on our website, in our newsletters, in print, and on social media. Participants at our events automatically give us permission to use photographs taken at our events. If you do not wish to be photographed, or you wish to have a published image removed please let us know and we will remove the image as far as possible.
We expect our members to collaborate openly and support each other, without commercial interest or seeking business benefit.
